Pulse have recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist providers of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Chief Cardiac Physiologist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Weston-Super-Mare, which is easily accessible via public transport.

About the role:

As a Chief Cardiac Physiologist, you will be proficient with BSE reporting guidelines, providing a safe and welcoming clinical environment for patients. You will have the opportunity to mentor and support our trainee physiologist and be involved in our clinical audit programme.

Your main responsibilities as a Chief Cardiac Physiologist:

  • Perform and report adult trans-thoracic echocardiograms in line with BSE minimum data set and local reporting guidelines
  • Provide expert clinical guidance via our second opinion rota, ensuring our reporting guidelines are adhered to during clinical peer-review
  • Ensure quality assurance checks on equipment and action as appropriate
  • Submit reports and archive study images in accordance with contractual requirements and local SOP
  • Liaise with relevant hospital departments and GP practices for urgent clinical referrals
  • Support with patient bookings, ensuring patient information systems are maintained

What we are looking for in a Chief Cardiac Physiologist:

  • Experience of performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms to BSE standards
  • Hold BSE (or equivalent).
  • A full UK driving license
  • A full understanding of the implications of the Data Protection Act, Information Governance Statement of Compliance and Caldicott Principles
  • A willingness to embrace new thinking and new technologies
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
