Are you a Paediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU) or Paediatric High Dependency Nurse (HDU) in Oxford looking for flexibility around your work-life balance? Come and join our exceptional Paediatric team at Pulse Nursing and make a real difference to patients in Oxford. You will be required to support the ward by providing a high standard of care for each individual child, support their families and assess their care needs.

Pulse Nursing are offering flexible shifts with rates between £28.50 – £44.38, with a range of shifts available including long days, earlies, lates, nights and twilights.

PICU/HDU responsibilities include:

  • Care of patients on the Intensive Care Unit between 0-18 years old, with a variety of needs including long-term respiratory, cardiology, surgery, trauma and neurological problems, as well as acute paediatric admissions.
  • Care of patients on the High Dependency Unit between 0-18 years old, who are not unwell enough to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, but require close monitoring and treatments which cannot be provided safely in a general children’s ward.
  • Administering medications, drawing blood, and giving childhood vaccinations following age-appropriate guidelines.

Paediatric Nurse Role Requirements:

  • Valid NMC registration
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in a Paediatric Intensive Care or High Dependency setting
  • To meet the compliance requirements of both the NHS and private sector
  • Right to work within the UK – proof will be required
