Pulse Nursing is looking for skilled and experienced band 5 and 6 registered ITU (INTENSIVE CARE UNIT) nurses to join our team in Coventry. As an ITU nurse, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment, working alongside healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient care. This role is incredibly fulfilling, allowing you to enhance your clinical skills while positively impacting the lives of patients who rely on your dedicated care. In this current opportunity, you’ll enjoy the flexibility to plan ahead by booking shifts in advance, giving you greater control over your schedule. We offer various shift patterns, including full-time equivalent hours in Coventry, with competitive pay ranging from £20.00 to £30.70 per hour.
Intensive Care Nurse responsibilities include:
- Plan, implement and evaluate care
- Assist patients with their activities of daily living
- Regular assessment and monitoring of patient’s vital signs
- Perform different types of observations and use of different monitoring systems
- Use and ensure working function of varied medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, feeding pumps, monitors
- Administer medication via different routes
- Care for patients receiving invasive and non-invasive ventilation
- Recognise patient deterioration and timely escalation of care
- Communicate effectively with members of the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives
- Work as part of a team
- Make appropriate referrals and prepare patients for discharge or transfer
- Keep accurate and timely patient records and follow local policies and procedures
To be considered for this role you will need to have:
- Valid NMC registration
- At least 6 months recent UK NHS experience within the ITU Sector
- Ability to provide a clinical reference as well as covering the last three years of employment
- Able to provide an enhanced DBS or documents to apply for one
- Right to work within the UK – proof will be required
