About the Facility: Our client operates a low secure rehabilitation and recovery facility located in North London. The facility is divided into five independent living units, each providing specialized care for males aged 18 years and older. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care that promotes rehabilitation, recovery, and independence for individuals with complex mental health needs.
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Clinical Services to lead the clinical operations of our clientβs facility in North London. The Director of Clinical Services will play a key role in overseeing the delivery of comprehensive mental health services, ensuring adherence to clinical best practices, and promoting a culture of excellence and compassion within the clinical team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the clinical team, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based, recovery-focused care to residents. Develop and implement clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in line with best practice guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff members, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists. Foster a supportive and collaborative work environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Clinical Governance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality benchmarks, and accreditation requirements. Monitor clinical outcomes, conduct regular audits, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance the effectiveness and safety of clinical services.
- Treatment Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans for residents, in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. Ensure that treatment approaches are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and tailored to the unique needs of each resident.
- Family and Stakeholder Engagement: Build positive relationships with residents, families, guardians, and external stakeholders. Collaborate with community resources, advocacy groups, and healthcare providers to support the rehabilitation and recovery journey of residents.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks related to patient safety, clinical outcomes, and legal compliance. Develop and implement protocols for managing emergencies, incidents, and crises effectively.
- Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of clinical services against established benchmarks and targets. Implement strategies to optimize clinical efficiency, resource utilization, and resident satisfaction.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced degree in Psychiatry, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, or a related field. Clinical background required.
- Registration with relevant professional bodies (e.g., GMC, HCPC, NMC).
- Significant experience in a senior clinical leadership role within a mental health or rehabilitation setting, preferably in a low secure facility.
- Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, risk assessment, and management principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
