Senior Biomedical Scientist in Blood Transfusion
Banding: Band 7
Location: Greater Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 2-3 months initially
Working Pattern: Core hours only
Hourly Rate: £30-32 Umbrella equivalent via trust DE
We are currently seeking a Band 7 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Blood Transfusion to join our client’s team in Greater Manchester. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.
Key Responsibilities
You will carry out blood grouping, antibody screening, compatibility testing, and issue blood components for transfusion. You will ensure safe transfusion practices and regulatory compliance. Previous experience as a Senior in an NHS laboratory is essential
Qualifications and Experience
- - HCPC registration
- - Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent
- - Experience as a Band 7 or above in Blood Transfusion within a clinical laboratory
- - Familiarity with LIMS and transfusion analysers
- - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- - Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- - NHS experience (preferred)
