Pulse have recently partnered with one of the UK's specialist providers of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Speech & Language Therapist, who will be working in a specialist school with children and young people aged 4 – 19 years located in Calne on acres of beautiful grounds. Developing the skills of pupils with communication needs arising from autism, social communication needs and developmental delays/disorders.

About the role: As a Lead Speech & Language Therapist, you will work in 2 specialist secondary schools to develop pupils' core communication and interaction skills and learn how to manage their physical and sensory needs in order to impact positively on their social, emotional, and mental health and broaden their ability to engage in learning opportunities across the curriculum.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech & Language Therapist:

  • Lead the Academy Speech and Language Strategy
  • Manage your own specialist caseload using developed clinical skills and innovative practice.
  • Provide expert advice to the Education, Care and Therapy Team in interpreting other professional reports for Admissions, Tribunals, Annual Reviews and Banding.
  • Develop and deliver specific training courses, work with parents, carers and children in a supportive and person-centred partnership towards agreed goals and outcomes.

What we are looking for in a Speech & Language Therapist:

  • HCPC & RCSLT registration.
  • Able to deliver accredited Speech and Language/Communication courses e.g. ELKLAN.
  • Lead management and strategy experience, knowledge of total communication e.g. Makaton, visuals.
  • Full understanding of the safeguarding requirements and how staff promote the welfare of children.
