Pulse has recently partnered with one of the UK’s specialist providers of diagnostic and healthcare solutions. We are currently looking for a Lead Occupational Therapist, who can provide overall support for the clinical leadership of the service. This post is based in Midhurst, which is easily accessible via public transport.
About the role
As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will deliver, treat and empower each young person to live a safe and independent life and reach their individual potential.

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Occupational Therapist
- Receive and respond promptly to referrals, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis
- Ensure the team maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress
- Attend any meetings called by the Senior Management Team and will develop therapies (and make any changes to the therapy provision) according to the agreed local occupational therapy strategy at the hospital which will change over time
- Ensure the effective and efficient management of more junior staff
- Maintain and develop close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team
- Maintain effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patient’s rehabilitation
What we are looking for in a Lead Occupational Therapist
- Occupational Therapy professional qualification
- HCPC registration
- Clinical supervision training
- Post graduate training in sensory integration
- Experience in a inpatient setting
- Knowledge and experience with Eating Disorders
- Ability to contribute to the leadership and development of the therapy service to ensure that it meets the needs of the patients admitted to the Unit
- Experience of delivering group interventions
- A high attention to detail regarding work and patient records
- Ability to articipate in quality improvement activities and clinical audits when required
