We have HDU/ITU shifts in the Cornwall area, with rates of pay from Β£22.00-Β£40.70 per hour. As an ITU/HDU nurse, you play a critical role in providing specialized care to patients in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) or High Dependency Unit (HDU). Your expertise in critical care, monitoring, and patient advocacy is invaluable in ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

ITU Nurses responsibilities:

  • Assessment, observation, monitoring and charting of vital signs; care planning, treatment implementation, and patient evaluation
  • Ensuring all medical equipment is functioning correctly – including ventilators, drains, catheters, IV lines, and pumps
  • Communicating effectively and supporting patients, relatives, staff, and others
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records
  • Acting as a role model to others in the hospital
  • Care for seriously ill patients with complex needs, including multi-organ failure and advanced respiratory difficulties requiring Level 3 care

Requirements for Critical Care Nurses (ICU) HDU working for Pulse:

  • NMC Registration for at least 6 months
  • 6 months recent experience in ITU/HDU within the last 12 months, with 2 references covering the last 3 years
  • Compliance with DBS, Occupational Health, and updated CV requirements
  • Proof of right to work within the UK
