This role is a full-time position for the NHS located in Romford, Essex. It offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in Child and Adolescent CAMHS Psychiatry to work full time hours for an initial period of 2 months. S12 is essential. Previous experience working with CAMHS is also desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Providing expert clinical assessments and diagnoses for children and adolescents experiencing complex mental health issues.
  • Leading and overseeing the development of comprehensive treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
  • Managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration between various healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff and trainees, contributing to their professional development.
  • Engaging in regular MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
  • Involvement in service development and quality improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of CAMHS services.

Position: Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Hours: This position is a full-time role of 40 hours per week

Setting: CAMHS

Location: Romford, Essex

Dates: Available to start immediately until 15 October 2024

Pay: Competitive, to be discussed upon application.

Requirements:

  • You must have a full GMC license to practice.
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position.
  • Section 12 approval is essential.
  • Approved clinician status is desired but not essential.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
