We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our team, specializing in inpatient services. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing leadership, clinical expertise, and high-quality psychiatric care to adult patients within inpatient settings. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated psychiatrist looking to lead and shape mental health services within an inpatient environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adult patients with complex mental health needs within inpatient settings.
- Leading and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of comprehensive and integrated care plans tailored to the individual needs of patients.
- Participating in clinical governance activities, including audits, reviews, and service development initiatives, to maintain and enhance the quality of care provided.
- Providing supervision, mentorship, and support to junior medical staff, including Specialty Doctors, Registrars, and Core Trainees, to facilitate their professional development.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
Requirements:
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice in the UK.
- Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych or FRCPsych) or equivalent qualification.
- Substantial experience working as a Consultant Psychiatrist within inpatient mental health services.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and keeping abreast of advancements in psychiatric practice.
