Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 ACT Pharmacy Technician to join the pharmacy team at Chesterfield Hospital. This is a long-term opportunity within a busy hospital setting, focusing on accuracy checking and supporting ward and outpatient pharmacy services. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, accurate, and efficient dispensing processes, supporting both ward-based activity and outpatient services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform final accuracy checking of prescriptions for ward and outpatient services.
  • Support medicines supply and dispensing processes.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, governance, and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to maintaining efficient workflow within the pharmacy department.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACT) qualification (essential).
  • Previous NHS hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Experience in ward and/or outpatient dispensary settings desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
