Pulse Healthcare is currently seeking a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with specialised expertise in paediatric care to join our team in South Cheshire. This role will involve providing clinical occupational therapy assessments and interventions to children and young people aged between 0-19. You will be responsible for a clinical caseload within both clinic and community settings, assessing a variety of conditions including functional skills assessments, ABC assessments, and working with children and young people with neurodevelopmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct clinical occupational therapy assessments and evaluations to determine individualised therapy needs of paediatric patients.
  • Develop and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at addressing developmental challenges and enhancing functional abilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, and other therapists to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Provide education and support to parents/caregivers regarding therapeutic interventions and home exercises.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting progress and modifications to treatment plans.
  • Stay updated with current best practices, research, and advancements in paediatric occupational therapy.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Proven experience as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist with a focus on paediatric care.
  • Valid driving licence and access to a reliable car.
  • Understanding of the Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) process is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures in paediatric occupational therapy.

Additional Information:

  • The role is based in South Cheshire and requires a car driver due to the community-based caseload.
  • Initial contract duration is 3 months with the possibility of extension.
