Band 6 Acute Neurology Physiotherapist


Pulse is proud to be exclusively recruiting for aBand 6 Acute Neurology Physiotherapist to join a leading NHS hospital in London. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced physiotherapist to work within a specialist neuro service, supporting patients with complex neurological conditions in an acute inpatient setting.

The Role


As a Band 6 Acute Neurology Physiotherapist, you will assess and treat patients presenting with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:



  • Stroke

  • Traumatic brain injury (TBI)

  • Multiple sclerosis (MS)

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Guillain-Barré syndrome

  • Spinal cord injuries

  • Other complex neurological presentations


You will work closely with occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, consultants, nursing staff, and discharge teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.


Key Responsibilities



  • Provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment for acute neurological patients.

  • Develop and implement evidence-based rehabilitation programmes.

  • Assess mobility, balance, transfers, gait, and functional independence.

  • Support early rehabilitation and safe discharge planning.

  • Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to goal setting.

  • Educate patients, carers, and ward staff on rehabilitation strategies.

  • Supervise junior staff, assistants, and physiotherapy students.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.


Essential Requirements



  • BSc or MSc in Physiotherapy.

  • HCPC Registration.

  • Previous NHS experience at Band 6 level or equivalent.

  • Proven experience within acute neurology, stroke, or neurorehabilitation settings.

  • Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
