The Biomedical Science team at Pulse are currently recruiting a Band 6-7 Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology to work in Greater London. We are looking for a biomedical scientist who can make a real difference in supporting the laboratory’s service.

Position : Biomedical Scientist

Banding : 6 / 7

Location : Greater London

Hours : Full-time (9 : 00 to 17 : 30)

Duration : 3 months / Ongoing

What will you be doing in this Biomedical Scientist role?

As a Biomedical Scientist in Microbiology, you will be expected to be proficient in microtomy able to cut over 30 blocks and hour to a high standard; alongside having experience in embedding and staining. On a day to day basis you will be supporting the senior biomedical scientists in the delivery of the service and providing guidance to junior members of staff.

Essential Requirements for this Biomedical Scientist position :

  • HCPC registered
  • Microtomy experience
  • UK NHS or private sector microbiology laboratory experience
  • Experience in Microbiology, particularly in Bacterial Identification and Antibiotic Susceptibility
  • Familiarity with automated culture systems like BACTEC™ and microbial identification systems such as VITEK® MS
