Pulse is currently searching for an experienced Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist who can provide overall support, working in a specialist secondary school with pupils who have autism and learning disabilities. This post is based in Kingsbury.

About the role: As a Pediatric Speech and Language Therapist, you’ll be working in a specialist school with pupils aged 3-19, who have a wide range of health conditions such as PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD. The therapy team is an integral part of pupils accessing the curriculum. There is close collaboration with families, school staff, NHS, social care teams, and the onsite multidisciplinary team, including nurses, dieticians, and paediatricians. Full-time 36 hours per week or part-time flexible hours optional.

Your main responsibilities as a Speech and Language Therapist:

  • Provide assessments and advice for students within the PSRP using formal and informal assessment tools.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor individual and group interventions, seeking advice from senior therapists as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with other therapists, teachers, and LSAs within the PSRP to deliver a coordinated and inclusive SaLT programme.
  • Participate in developing and delivering training to teaching and support staff, parents/carers, and other professionals.
  • Maintain high standards of report writing for annual reviews and attend these reviews as appropriate.
  • Attend regular clinical supervision, line management meetings, and engage in the school’s professional development programs.
