An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 5/6 Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Lancashire. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering full-time hours per week in a locum role From 12/02/2024 to 30/06/2024.

We are seeking a passionate and highly skilled Mental Health Occupational Therapist to join our client’s team. As an integral member of the mental health care staff, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of clients. The Mental Health Occupational Therapist plays a crucial role in helping individuals with mental health challenges regain their independence and improve their overall quality of life. The postholder will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on improving clients’ functional abilities and enhancing their daily living skills. Applying therapists must have mental health experience, ideally inpatient mental health Band 5 or 6.

Duties will include:

  • Care-coordinating
  • Attending MDT meetings
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
  • Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
  • Working with other healthcare professionals
  • The Successful Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
  • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
