Position: Mortuary Technician

Placement Duration: 3 Months

Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00-16:30

Rate: £20 – £28 per hour

Location : Norwich

Job Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated Mortuary Technician to join our team. The role involves providing safe and practical assistance to Histopathologists in the postmortem room, ensuring the Mortuary is maintained in a clean and efficient manner, and adhering to all legal and health regulations pertaining to deceased individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist Histopathologists in postmortem examinations, including evisceration, dissection, and organ weighing.
  • Maintain Mortuary hygiene standards and implement disinfection protocols.
  • Handle and document postmortem specimens with precision and care.
  • Liaise with external agencies such as funeral directors to ensure smooth collection procedures.
  • Provide support during forensic postmortems and perinatal examinations.
  • Train and supervise subordinate personnel in Mortuary procedures and safety protocols.

    • Requirements:

  • Good communication skills with the ability to interact compassionately with bereaved families.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols in handling deceased individuals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Emotional resilience and maturity to handle sensitive situations.
  • Must be a qualified Anatomical Pathology Technician with the Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology.
