The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Band 3 Medicines Management Senior Pharmacy Assistant to join us in Croydon. This ongoing position offers a competitive hourly rate of Β£13 β Β£15. Itβs a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing a ward-based dispensing service to streamline patient discharges.
- Acting as a vital link between the multidisciplinary team at ward level and the Pharmacy Service.
- Ensuring medication storage and security comply with national standards.
- Speaking to patients and relatives about their medicines on admission and optimizing patient-owned medicines brought into the hospital through direct discussions with patients, family relatives, and carers.
- Transferring medicines to other wards to reduce missed doses.
- Delivering a strong pharmacy presence in a demanding environment.
- Gaining underpinning knowledge and practical experience in performing medicines management duties.
- Participating in the general running of the department, undertaking the full range of duties of a pharmacy assistant.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent qualification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a Pharmacy Technician or Assistant.
- Demonstrated experience in medicines management, including dispensing and optimizing patient-owned medicines.
- Previous experience working in a clinical or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address medication-related issues.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
