This is not a “sit in a silo and say no” security role. The business is scaling quickly, going through significant platform and product transformation, and needs someone pragmatic who can work closely with engineering, product and leadership teams to help shape security in a commercially sensible way. You’ll work directly alongside the Head of Security as a trusted second-in-command, helping drive security maturity across cloud, application security, governance, risk and delivery. The environment is fast-moving, collaborative and relatively unstructured compared to large enterprise organisations, so this role would suit someone comfortable operating with ambiguity, making sensible judgement calls and helping build process where needed rather than relying on it already existing.
What you’ll be doing:
- Partnering with engineering, product and technology teams on security across projects, platforms and change initiatives
- Conducting security reviews, threat modelling and risk assessments
- Supporting cloud and application security initiatives across a SaaS environment
- Working closely with teams on secure software delivery and security best practice
- Supporting ISO 2701 maintenance and wider security maturity initiatives
- Reviewing penetration testing findings and helping drive remediation activity
- Supporting client-facing security assurance conversations where needed
- Helping shape and mature the wider security function as the team grows
What we’re looking for:
- Broad experience across security architecture, governance and technical security delivery
- Strong cloud security exposure (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP also relevant)
- Exposure to software / application security environments
- Experience working closely with engineering or product teams
- Ability to operate independently and pragmatically in fast-moving environments
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Someone comfortable balancing security, risk and delivery realities
- Previous experience within SaaS, product-led or transformation-heavy environments would be highly beneficial
The type of person who’ll thrive:
This role suits someone who enjoys solving problems rather than following rigid process. You’ll likely enjoy dynamic environments, building and improving things, working closely with technical teams, operating with autonomy, influencing rather than policing, and wearing multiple hats when needed.
