Senior Product Manager – Acquisition & Subscriptions

📍 London (4 days/week in office)

đź’· Up to ÂŁ100k + 15% bonus + Benefits

I’m partnering with one of the UK’s most-read and recognisable news brands as they accelerate their shift from ad-funded to subscription-first.

With 300k+ paying subscribers already and ambitious plans to significantly scale that number, this is a pivotal hire at a defining moment in their transformation. They are looking for someone to build a world-class acquisition engine and shape the future of a multi-product subscription ecosystem.

The Opportunity

You’ll own end-to-end acquisition strategy, from paywalls and pricing through to conversion journeys, packaging, and experimentation.

Crucially, you’ll work cross-functionally and commercially, partnering with marketing, editorial, data, CRO and engineering to unlock new audiences, drive subscription growth, and maximise lifetime value.

There is also real scope to explore strategic partnerships and new routes to audience growth, expanding beyond traditional acquisition channels to build a broader, more diversified subscription ecosystem.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Defining and evolving paywall strategy (metered, dynamic, tiered), benchmarking against best-in-class global subscription brands
  • Owning pricing, packaging and conversion mechanics to drive measurable subscriber growth
  • Designing and leading high-impact experimentation across sign-up journeys, mobile payments, offers and bundling
  • Identifying friction across the acquisition funnel and delivering clear, commercially viable solutions
  • Partnering closely with marketing, commercial and editorial teams to align product strategy with audience growth opportunities
  • Shaping the roadmap for future subscription products and bundled propositions

What They’re Looking For

  • A proven track record of scaling subscription or membership products with tangible growth outcomes
  • Deep expertise in acquisition strategy, paywalls, pricing models and rigorous experimentation
  • Strong commercial instincts, you understand audience growth, revenue levers and lifetime value
  • A critical product mindset, you can quickly assess what’s underperforming and articulate a better path forward
  • Strategic thinking, someone who sees beyond optimising today’s funnel and can build for a multi-product future
