Pulse Recruit are seeking a talented Infrastructure Manager with a passion for technology and a proven track record in managing complex IT infrastructures for a leading London University. In this role, you will play a vital part in stabilising the IT estate, managing essential projects such as network replacement, executing data centre migrations, and transitioning to Microsoft Enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Stabilisation: Lead efforts to stabilise and optimise our existing IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance across all systems. Develop and implement best practices for system maintenance, monitoring, and support.
- Core Projects Management: Manage and oversee critical infrastructure projects, including network replacement initiatives. Ensure all projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget while minimising disruption to business operations.
- Data Centre Migration: Spearhead the planning and execution of data centre migrations, transitioning our operations to state-of-the-art facilities or cloud solutions. Ensure all aspects of the migration are meticulously planned and executed to maintain data integrity and service continuity.
- Microsoft Enterprise Transition: Oversee the seamless transition to Microsoft Enterprise solutions, including Office 365, Microsoft Azure, and Dynamics 365, enhancing collaboration, productivity, and security across the organisation.
- Identity and Access Management (IAM): Lead IAM initiatives to implement robust security protocols that guarantee secure access to systems and data. Develop user access policies and perform regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Systems Integration: Manage the integration of various systems and applications within the organisation to streamline operations, enhance user experiences, and ensure interoperability.
- Vendor and Third-Party Management: Collaborate closely with various vendors and third-party service providers, ensuring that they meet contractual obligations and deliver against agreed service levels. Foster strong working relationships to leverage technical expertise and support.
Tech Stack:
- Operating Systems and Servers: Extensive experience with Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux variants.
- Cloud Technologies: Proficient in Microsoft Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services.
- Collaboration Tools: Deep familiarity with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, and Exchange Online.
- Database Management: Experience with MS SQL Server and other database technologies; knowledge of database backup, recovery, and optimisation practices.
- Virtualisation: Proficient in virtualisation technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware for server and application hosting.
- Networking: Strong understanding of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and security protocols.
