Lead Software Engineer in Birmingham

Tech: .NET | Desktop Applications | Agile | CI/CD

Location: Birmingham (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

Salary: Up to £75,000

I’m working with a global software product company that develops highly specialised engineering and infrastructure solutions used worldwide.

They’re now looking for a Tech Lead to take ownership of a core .NET desktop product suite, leading delivery while remaining hands‑on in architecture and development.

This is a leadership-from-the-front role, ideal for a senior engineer ready to assume broader technical ownership while mentoring a team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Acting as the technical authority for architecture, design decisions and engineering standards
• Contributing hands‑on to complex coding and problem‑solving
• Driving CI/CD improvements and development best practices
• Mentoring and supporting engineers, raising overall technical capability
• Partnering with Product and leadership to align technical direction with roadmap goals

What they’re looking for:

• Experience leading engineers or acting as a technical lead within a team
• Deep understanding of SDLC, architecture patterns and coding standards
• Comfortable balancing hands‑on coding with leadership responsibility
• Clear communicator who can align technical and non‑technical stakeholders
