We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Paediatric Dysphagia Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a community service across the West Midlands. This role involves working with children with eating, drinking, and swallowing difficulties, providing specialist assessment and intervention across a range of community settings.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with paediatric dysphagia experience who is confident working independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will play a vital role in ensuring safe, effective swallowing management and improving quality of life for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage paediatric dysphagia and associated speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Develop and implement individualised therapy and feeding plans in line with clinical guidelines.
  • Work closely with families, carers, and education/health professionals to ensure safe swallowing strategies are followed.
  • Provide specialist advice, training, and support to parents, carers, and staff in managing dysphagia.
  • Manage a caseload independently across community settings, including homes, schools, and clinics.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records in accordance with professional standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Significant experience working with paediatric dysphagia.
  • Strong knowledge of swallowing assessment and management in children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a complex caseload.
