We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a community-based service across the West Midlands. This role involves working with adults in community care settings, including care homes and patients' own homes, supporting individuals with a range of speech, language, and swallowing difficulties.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist with dysphagia competencies who is confident working independently in the community. You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care, helping patients maintain safety, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders (including dysphagia).
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions within community settings such as care homes and service users' own homes.
  • Manage a varied caseload independently, prioritising clinical need effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, carers, and family members.
  • Provide training and guidance to carers and support staff on communication strategies and safe swallowing practices.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • Proven experience working with adults in a community setting.
  • Dysphagia training and demonstrated competency in managing swallowing disorders.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
