Role: Locum Pharmacist

Banding: Band 6-8a

Location: Stoke-on-Trent

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3 – 6 months (with possible extension)

Hours: Full-time, Monday – Friday working 4 days at 9.00am – 5.20pm and one day 10am – 6.20pm

Rate: £23 - £39 per hour (depending on banding)

About the role

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Royal Stoke. This role is available for Band 6, 7, or 8a pharmacists, with the pay rate varying accordingly. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 12 months of hospital experience working as a ward pharmacist and will be proficient in using the Ascribe system.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be an expert in pharmaceutical matters for the treatment of childhood cancer.
  • To be a member of a team of specialist pharmacists delivering a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the Haematology and Oncology Departments.
  • To manage and further develop the ward based pharmacy service on the Inpatient Haematology/Oncology wards.
  • To promote and contribute to the education and training of healthcare professionals.
  • To promote and contribute to the education and training of staff working or rotating through the Cytotoxic unit.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's degree in pharmacy or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 12 months hospital experience as a ward pharmacist.
  • Proficiency in using the Ascribe system.
