We are seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Child and Adolescent CAMHS Psychiatry (CMHT) to work full time hours for our NHS client based in Calmore, Southampton. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a short-term contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing expert clinical assessments and diagnoses for children and adolescents experiencing complex mental health issues.
  • Leading and overseeing the development of comprehensive treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.
  • Managing and supporting multidisciplinary teams, ensuring effective collaboration between various healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff and trainees, contributing to their professional development.
  • Engaging in regular MDT (Multidisciplinary Team) meetings to discuss patient progress, share insights, and adjust treatment strategies as necessary.
  • Involvement in service development and quality improvement initiatives, aiming to enhance the overall effectiveness and efficiency of CAMHS services.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Must have a full GMC licence to practice.
  • Previous experience in CAMHS.
  • Section 12/RC approval is essential.
  • Approved clinician status is desired but not essential.
