Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking experienced Band 7 Specialist Pharmacists to join the Respiratory Pharmacy team (multiple positions). This role offers an excellent opportunity to lead and develop clinical pharmacy services within the respiratory directorate, ensuring high-quality, patient‑centred care. The successful candidates will play a key role in optimising medicines use, supporting clinical teams, and driving service improvements within respiratory medicine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery and development of clinical pharmacy services for respiratory patients.
  • Provide expert pharmaceutical advice to ensure safe, effective, and cost‑efficient use of medicines.
  • Support medicines optimisation and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
  • Undertake risk management and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Drive financial efficiencies and savings within respiratory services.
  • Deliver education and training programmes relevant to respiratory pharmacy.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Experience working at Band 7 level or equivalent in a hospital setting.
  • Clinical experience in respiratory medicine (desirable).
  • Strong knowledge of medicines optimisation and governance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
