Our client is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Occupational Therapist to provide specialist OT provision to pupils with autism. This role involves delivering high-quality assessment, intervention, and support within an educational setting, working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure pupils achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Practice and Intervention
    • Maintain responsibility for OT interventions, ensuring high standards of care.
    • Provide direct therapy to pupils as outlined in their EHCPs.
    • Deliver small group OT sessions and develop individualized and class-based intervention programs.
    • Embed OT strategies throughout the school environment.
    • Collaborate with a wider team of therapists and adhere to professional ethical standards.
  • Assessment and Equipment
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments using appropriate tools.
    • Assess for specialist equipment, make recommendations, and ensure safe setup.
    • Train parents, carers, and staff in equipment use and monitor safety.
  • Training and Support
    • Plan and deliver staff training sessions and parent information sessions.
    • Support the implementation of OT strategies across the school environment.
  • Professional Standards
    • Maintain accurate clinical records, write detailed reports, and contribute to reviews.
    • Manage workload efficiently and participate in CPD activities.
    • Stay current with research, guidelines, and legislation relevant to practice.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Working
    • Collaborate effectively with education staff, therapists, and other professionals.
    • Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and provide specialist advice.
