Hours: Monday – Friday 8am/8:30am start but can be flexible

About the role:

As a Music Therapist you will be working at a pediatric school in Chelmsford with children 11-16 years to support their social, emotional, behavioural and educational development.

Your main responsibilities as a Music Therapist:

  • Offer therapeutic intervention that aids children’s emotional well-being and learning
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues (teaching, support and therapeutic) to maximise progress for children
  • Deliver 1:1 and group and whole class sessions
  • Build positive working relationships with children’s families, including consistent phone and/or email contact as required
  • Create and deliver support sessions and targeted trainings for parent group and family workshop days

What we are looking for in a Music Therapist:

  • Degree level, fully qualified therapist in Music Therapy & associated registration with appropriate body
  • Understanding of mental health in children, ACEs, trauma and the impact of abuse and mental health difficulties on child development, attachment and behaviour
