Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Pharmacy Technician to support Clinical Trials services. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, research-driven pharmacy team delivering safe, compliant, and efficient technical services across a wide portfolio of clinical trials.
As the Senior Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Trials), you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of the Clinical Trials Pharmacy service
- Work alongside Senior Clinical Trials Technicians to ensure safe and compliant handling of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs)
- Assist in developing trial processes aligned with Trust strategies and study requirements
- Ensure all trial activity follows legislation, GCP, and local governance procedures
- Coordinate staffing within the trials area and contribute to workforce planning
- Promote strong teamworking across the Clinical Trials Pharmacy team
- Support training, competency assessments, and development of technical staff
- Maintain safe systems of work including COSHH, infection control, and statutory standards
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Pharmaceutical Science
- Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Clinical Trials Pharmacy experience – full training will be provided
Important: Aseptic experience alone will NOT be accepted as a substitute for the technical and regulatory requirements of clinical trials.
