The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Oncology Pharmacy Clinical Technician to join our team for a 12-week assignment. This role involves working within our aseptic unit, ensuring the safe and effective preparation of oncology medications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • You will prepare and dispense oncology medications in an aseptic environment.
  • You will ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines and protocols.
  • You will collaborate with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • You will maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • You will participate in quality assurance and improvement activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience/Knowledge: NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician. Minimum of 2 years’ post-registration NHS hospital pharmacy experience. Experience in oncology pharmacy and aseptic techniques.
  • Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
