We are seeking a skilled and motivated Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Barts NHS Trust in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional to contribute to our hematology and blood transfusion services. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic tests and analyses, ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and patient care. Responsibilities:
- Conducting a variety of hematology and blood transfusion tests using CN, XN, and IH500 analysers.
- Performing blood film morphology assessments and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of samples.
- Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment.
- Adhering to quality control protocols.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of laboratory services.
- Collaboration with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive diagnostic support and ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in hematology and blood transfusion.
- Proficiency with CN, XN, and IH500 analysers.
- Strong skills in blood film morphology.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
