The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Specialist Senior Oncology Pharmacist to join our team in London. This is a temporary position from 6 August 2024 to 30 November 2024, offering a competitive pay rate.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a clinical pharmacy service to oncology patients.
- Lead the clinical screening of chemotherapy prescriptions.
- Function as an Independent Prescriber (IP) within oncology clinics.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare staff.
- Support the Outsourcing and Aseptic Services Pharmacy Team.
- Manage medicines optimisation and medicine management activities.
- Ensure the safe and effective provision of anticancer treatment to inpatients and outpatients.
- Act as a role model for junior pharmacists and assist in their education and training.
- Participate in the development of clinical pharmacy services and research initiatives.
Requirements
- Experience/Knowledge:
- Up-to-date GPhC registration.
- Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Oncology Pharmacy (preferred).
- Hospital experience (required).
- Experience in oncology and haematology (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of aseptic and systemic anti‐cancer treatment (SACT).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Time management and problem‐solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
