An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and experienced Band 7 Pharmacist to join a leading NHS Trust in London as a Senior Quality Assurance Officer. This role is essential in supporting the Quality Assurance function within aseptic services, ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and maintaining high standards in the preparation and release of unlicensed medicines. The successful candidate will play a key role in the management and oversight of the electronic quality management system (QPulse), contributing to the continuous improvement of quality systems and ensuring the safety and efficacy of products provided to the Trust's patients.
Responsibilities:
- Supporting the validation, maintenance, training, and operation of the QPulse electronic management system, specifically for documentation, change control, and deviation management.
- Ensuring accurate data entry, generating reports and trend analyses for QMS metrics, and ensuring the timely completion of SOPs, deviations, CAPAs, and change controls.
- Preparing and reviewing SOPs, conducting or reviewing investigations, and participating in QA review meetings across multiple sites.
- Documenting findings, escalating concerns to the Head of Quality, and following up on compliance actions.
- Supporting the release of unlicensed medicines and other PTS releases, and assisting in compliance meetings by maintaining minutes and action logs.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPHC) (if applicable).
- Extensive experience in Quality Assurance within a pharmaceutical or aseptic environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
- Proficient in the use and administration of electronic quality management systems, particularly QPulse.
- Demonstrated experience in deviation, CAPA, and change control management.
- Skilled in preparing and reviewing SOPs and quality documentation.
- Experience in conducting QA audits and review meetings.
- Ability to analyse data and generate quality metrics reports.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
