We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Locum Vascular Scientist to join our team in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing specialized vascular diagnostic services. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of vascular assessments and ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
What will your responsibilities be:
- Conducting a variety of vascular assessments, including duplex ultrasound scans of the carotid arteries, peripheral arteries, and veins.
- Engaging closely with patients to explain procedures, ensure their comfort, and meticulously record test results.
- Collaborating with vascular surgeons and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results and contribute to patient care plans.
- Maintaining and calibrating equipment, adhering to clinical protocols, and staying updated with the latest advancements in vascular diagnostics.
- Participating in quality assurance activities, assisting in the training and supervision of junior staff, and contributing to the development of departmental policies and procedures.
- Involved in patient education, providing information on vascular health and lifestyle modifications.
- Managing inventory and supplies for the vascular lab, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Participating in research and development projects to enhance vascular diagnostic techniques and patient outcomes.
Qualifications and Experiences:
- Degree in Vascular Science or related field.
- HCPC registration.
- Extensive experience in vascular diagnostics.
- Proficiency in duplex ultrasound scans of the carotid arteries, peripheral arteries, and veins.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
