The Pharmacy team at Pulse is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Band 6 Pharmacy Technician to join our team in London. This is a temporary position for 3 months, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- You will provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services for inpatients, ensuring adherence to Trust and National standards.
- You will complete medicines reconciliation promptly to meet NICE guidelines and highlight any discrepancies to the ward pharmacist.
- You will offer expert advice to patients, carers, and healthcare professionals on medication-related issues to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
- You will provide pharmaceutical training, supervision, and support to colleagues.
- You will assess patients' own drugs (POD) for re-use.
- You will adapt to different ward specialities as required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Experience/Knowledge: NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or Qualified Pharmacy Technician with relevant certification. Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician. Proven experience as a Pharmacy Technician. Hospital experience is essential.
- Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals. Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
