Our client is seeking a skilled and experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to join our client's Biochemistry team in East London. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established NHS laboratory, contributing to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and professional team, playing a key role in ensuring accurate and timely analysis of patient samples.
Responsibilities
- The role involves performing a wide range of diagnostic tests within the Biochemistry department, ensuring all procedures are carried out in accordance with laboratory protocols and quality standards.
- The Biomedical Scientist will be responsible for operating and maintaining Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers, as well as utilising Q-Pulse for quality management.
- Duties include sample processing, result validation, equipment calibration, and participation in internal and external quality assurance schemes.
- The ability to work independently and flexibly across different shifts is essential.
Qualifications and Experience
- HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist
- Minimum of 2 years' post-registration experience in Biochemistry
- Proficient in using Cobas Pure and Cobas 8000 analysers
- Experience with Q-Pulse quality management system
- Familiarity with UKAS standards and laboratory best practices
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities
