The AHP team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist in London. Join our Children's Social Care Occupational Therapy Team within the Children with Disabilities Service, which has been rated Outstanding by OFSTED for the second time. Our team manages a caseload of children with Autism, learning disabilities, and a wide variety of physical needs. We work directly in children's homes to provide interventions and support, aiming to improve their ability to engage in social activities and develop skills for independence and optimal function. Additionally, we provide training and advice to parents and carers, equipping them with the tools to support each child's individual needs through an inclusive and functional approach to learning.

Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:

  • You will provide an effective and efficient Occupational Therapy service to children with various presentations within their homes.
  • You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions in family homes.
  • You will support and carry out therapy sessions, including individual and group work.
  • You will collaborate with social care, healthcare, and SEN staff to model good practice and establish support programs.
  • You will complete administrative duties such as data input, record keeping, and managing the OT email inbox.

What we are looking for in an Occupational Therapist:

  • Is a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy with pupils and their families.
  • Ability to manage own time and caseload, prioritising tasks with support.
  • Experience working with pupils aged 7-18 with Occupational Therapy needs.
  • Knowledge of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD, and associated conditions.
  • Experience in clinical assessment, planning, and implementing intervention programmes.
  • Up-to-date clinical knowledge.
