Job Overview: This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of aseptic technical services including parenteral nutrition (PN), CIVAs, and cytotoxics. The post holder will provide expert pharmaceutical advice, support quality assurance, and contribute to clinical cancer services and nutritional teams. The role includes progression from Band 7 to Band 8a based on competency and leadership development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational delivery of aseptic dispensing services ensuring safe and timely medication preparation.
- Support compliance with Section 10 Exemption and QAAP standards.
- Provide clinical screening and expert advice on aseptic preparation and administration.
- Lead training and supervision within the aseptic unit.
- Participate in audits, quality meetings, and service development projects.
- Line manage assigned Band 6 Pharmacist.
- Deputise for the Accountable Pharmacist during absences.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s Degree in Pharmacy + 1-year pre-registration training.
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Significant hospital pharmacy experience with technical services expertise.
- MSc in Pharmaceutical Technology and Quality Assurance (PTQA).
- Experience with SACTs, CIVAs, and PN services.
