Job Overview

Pulse is currently seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to work with an established pharmacy team in Kent. This role focuses on ward-based medicines management activities, supporting safe and effective patient care through accurate medicines reconciliation, patient counselling, and clinical support. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring medicines are used safely and efficiently across inpatient wards, working closely with pharmacists and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake medicines reconciliations for patients on hospital wards.
  • Perform accuracy checking duties where appropriate.
  • Conduct controlled drug (CD) audits and support compliance.
  • Provide patient counselling on medicines and support safe discharge processes.
  • Work collaboratively with pharmacists and ward teams to optimise patient care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Proven experience undertaking medicines reconciliation in a hospital setting (essential).
  • ACPT qualification desirable but not essential.
  • Previous NHS hospital experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
