Our client is seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join their Community Rehabilitation Team in Luton. This service provides assessments and rehabilitation either at home or within a dedicated 20-bed inpatient rehabilitation facility, supporting patients to regain independence after illness or injury.
About the Service: The team includes occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech & language therapists, clinical psychologists, and stroke coordinators, working collaboratively with patients, families, and carers. They also liaise with community services such as district nursing and social care, ensuring holistic care and timely referrals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy assessments and rehabilitation in patients’ homes or inpatient rehabilitation beds.
- Support recovery for a range of conditions, including stroke, acquired brain injury (ABI), and complex medical needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community services to deliver patient-centered care.
- Contribute to services such as:
- Community Rehabilitation
- Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Case Management
- Stroke Early Supported Discharge (ESD)
- Wheelchair assessment and provision
- Inpatient Rehabilitation
Requirements:
- HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience in community rehabilitation and/or inpatient rehab settings.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car (essential for community visits).
