The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Whiston. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing high-quality pharmacy services to our patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide a high-quality, efficient, and patient-focused dispensing service to all patients.
- Act as a senior pharmacy technician in the dispensary, supervising day-to-day dispensing activities and managing staff.
- Perform final accuracy checks of dispensed prescriptions as an Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT).
- Train and supervise pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and other staff in the dispensary.
- Oversee stock control, including daily orders, returns, and expired stock management.
- Participate in the dispensing of clinical trials in accordance with departmental SOPs.
- Counsel patients on the safe and effective use of their medications, including potential side effects.
- Participate in regular audits, technician team meetings, and individual staff development reviews.
- Support ward-based clinical pharmacy services, including medicines reconciliation and discharge counselling.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacy technician.
- Previous experience in a hospital or community pharmacy setting.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Good organizational skills to manage workload and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
