Pulse is seeking a dedicated and experienced Specialist Clinical Pharmacist to join our team in High Wycombe. As a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in patient care, offering vital pharmacy services across various clinical divisions. Your duties will encompass delivering clinical pharmacy services, overseeing pharmacy staff, and assisting the Lead Pharmacist. You will maintain the highest standards of professional practice and actively contribute to the enhancement of pharmaceutical services within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive ward and clinical pharmacy services, ensuring safe medication management and educating patients and carers on drug therapy and discharge procedures.
- Assist with complex medication cases, facilitate rapid discharges, and educate healthcare professionals on medication-related topics.
- Efficiently manage workload, contribute to service development, and deliver dispensary services in line with legal standards.
- Ensure accurate medication assembly and labelling and communicate with medical and nursing staff to address patient issues.
- Promote medication adherence by providing information to patients.
- Engage in clinical trials, adhere to Good Clinical Practice standards, and evaluate research evidence.
- Offer expert medication advice, support junior staff, and oversee services to ensure high customer service standards.
- Act as Lead Pharmacist when needed, motivate the team, and supervise junior staff.
- Maintain quality guidelines, facilitate peer reviews, and provide training on medicines management.
- Identify learning needs, maintain a Continuing Professional Development portfolio, and participate in emergency and weekend duties.
What we are looking for in a Specialist Clinical Pharmacist:
- Qualifications: Accredited by the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). A master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm).
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience: At least 18 months of clinical pharmacy experience.
- Experience in providing comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including specialist information and advice to multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent team management skills.
