The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a dedicated and professional Band 8a Oncology Pharmacist to join our team in Gloucester. This role is crucial in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of oncology pharmacy services. You will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of Chemotherapy: You will compound and prepare chemotherapy treatments.
- Verification: You will check in and check off medications to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Aseptic Techniques: You will put up aseptic products and label them appropriately.
- Clinical Duties: You will provide pharmaceutical care in the oncology department at CGH (Cheltenham General Hospital).
- Patient Counselling: You will offer guidance and support to patients receiving oral SACT (Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy).
- Clinical Pharmacy Services: You will ensure the safe and effective provision of clinical pharmacy services to both outpatient and inpatient oncology patients.
- Education and Training: You will act as a role model and assist in the training and development of junior pharmacists.
- Research and Development: You will support the research and development portfolio within the pharmacy department.
Requirements
- Experience/Knowledge: Up to date GPhC registration. Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or Oncology Pharmacy is preferred. Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
- Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Time management and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
