Pulse AHP’s Phlebotomy Team is recruiting experienced Phlebotomists / Healthcare Support Workers to support an established health research programme as it moves into its next phase. Up to £19 per hour (umbrella) weekend enhancements starting July | Ongoing project.
This is a flexible, shift-based role (similar to bank work), ideal for candidates looking for part-time hours or a second role. We are looking for individuals who can commit to a minimum of 2 days per week within a 6-day service operating Monday–Friday and Sunday. There is also the potential for 4–5 days per week for those with greater availability.
The Role
You will be working on mobile research units across Central Scotland, with locations rotating approximately every 5–6 weeks. Duties include:
- Venepuncture (2 blood samples per participant)
- Height, weight and waist measurements
- Blood pressure and heart rate observations
- Data input onto clinical systems
- Participant welfare checks and escalation where required
- Preparing samples for courier collection
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 12 months recent phlebotomy experience
- Previous HCA / clinical support experience
- Ability to work 2–3 days per week minimum
- Willingness to complete full Pulse registration
- Full driving licence highly beneficial due to mobile unit locations

- Glasgow and surrounding areas
- Perth
- Dundee
Candidates are not expected to cover all locations and can work within areas suitable for their travel requirements.
