We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Consultant Paediatrician to join our vibrant and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a department that delivers high-quality general paediatric and neonatal care, with opportunities to develop a special interest such as paediatric respiratory medicine, endocrinology, or child protection.
You will be part of a team of 14 consultant paediatricians, providing care to children and families across the area. The post may include some peripheral clinics in nearby market towns.
Requirements- Full registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Paediatrics (or within 6 months of interview)
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCPCH)
- Strong background in general paediatrics and neonatology
- Practical skills and experience in acute paediatric care and safeguarding
- Consultant of the Week (CoW): 2.2 PAs, covering all patients seen by the paediatric team Monday–Thursday or Friday–Sunday. No other routine commitments during this period
- Twilight Consultant: 1.3 PAs, covering evening shifts Monday–Friday to support the CoW
- Night Rota: 4 resident 12-hour night shifts per 10-week cycle (1.9 PAs), with rest days before and after
- Non-resident On-call: 1 in 10 rota (0.37 PA)
- Outpatient Clinics: General and specialist clinics depending on interest
- Participation in emergency cover, clinical governance, and service development
- A welcoming and enthusiastic team of 14 consultants
