This University Hospital is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our dynamic and expanding team. This post supports the delivery of high-quality care across antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and gynaecological services, with opportunities to develop a specialist interest in areas such as maternal and fetal medicine, urogynaecology, or minimally invasive surgery. You will be joining a team of 12 consultant obstetricians, working in a supportive environment with a strong focus on clinical excellence, teaching, and research.
Requirements
- Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (or within 6 months of interview)
- Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., MRCOG/FRCOG)
- Experience in managing both routine and complex obstetric and gynaecological cases
- Commitment to teamwork, clinical leadership, and continuous improvement
Typical Job Plan and Duties
- Antenatal and gynaecology outpatient clinics
- Labour ward cover and intrapartum care
- Theatre sessions for elective and emergency gynaecological procedures
- Participation in on-call rota (separate for obstetrics and gynaecology)
- Involvement in teaching, audit, and service development
- Opportunities to lead on clinical guidelines, research, and quality improvement projects
