Qualifications

Essential

  • Hold a medical degree registered with the GMC
  • Hold a license to practice with the GMC
  • Entry on Specialist Register recognised for the award of CCT in ICM, (proposed CCT date must be within 6 months of interview) – CESR or European Community Rights (within 6 months of completing a training programme recognised for the award of CCT or equivalent)
  • FFICM Accreditation

Desirable

  • MD or equivalent Higher Degree
  • Post CCT fellowship
  • FICE/FUSIC accreditation
  • Instructor in life support course

Mentoring, teaching & research

Essential

  • Experience of teaching undergraduate and post graduate trainees
  • Ability to teach clinical skills
  • Experience of undertaking audits and presenting their findings
  • Experience of supervision of postgraduate trainees
  • Ability to critically review research
  • Commitment to continuing professional development and further post-graduate educations

Desirable

  • Publications in peer review journals

Leadership and Teamwork

Essential

  • Is able and willing to take on a leadership role
  • Capable of building trust and confidence
