Banding: Band 8a

Location: Newton Abbot

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3 months

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 07:30AM - 17:30PM

Rate: £34 - £39 per hour

The Pharmacy team at Pulse is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Band 8A Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at the Denbury prison services. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care to inmates, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, and contributing to the overall healthcare management within the prison.

Key Responsibilities:
  • You will conduct medication reviews and provide clinical advice on the safe and effective use of medicines.
  • You will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans.
  • You will ensure compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
  • You will provide education and training to healthcare staff on pharmaceutical matters.
  • You will participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of healthcare policies.
Requirements:

Education and Qualifications:

  • GPhC Registered.
  • 1 year pre-registration training.
  • Master’s degree in pharmacy (MPharm) accredited by the GPhC.
  • Previous experience working in an NHS hospital setting is essential.
  • Experience in a clinical pharmacy role, preferably within a prison or similar setting.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of medicines and their applications.
