We are seeking a Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist to join our esteemed client in Brighton. This role involves performing specialist blood transfusion procedures, ensuring the safe and effective provision of blood products for patients. The successful candidate will work closely with haematologists, clinicians, and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to high-quality patient care and adherence to clinical guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- The role requires expertise in blood transfusion science, including blood group serology, antibody screening, and cross-matching to ensure compatibility for transfusions.
- The scientist will be responsible for interpreting transfusion test results, maintaining accurate laboratory records, and ensuring compliance with UKAS accreditation standards.
- Additionally, they will assist in quality control procedures, support training and competency assessments, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the transfusion laboratory.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent.
- Knowledge in Winpath and Blood 360 preferable.
- Extensive experience in blood transfusion and serology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
